Al's Story
Highlights of the past 52 years:
Started dating the very pretty Jessica Hall (WCHS '62) in July 1963. We were married in August 1966. We're still together and she's still very pretty.
Began a career in franchising in 1967. I retired on January 30, 2009. 42 years in corporate America was long enough !!
Son Rob was born in 1969. He and his wife Carol live in Marietta, GA. Rob's an architect. He didn't inherit that talent from me.
Daughter Stacey was born in 1974. She lives in Alpharetta, GA with her husband Brad and our fantastic GRANDSONS Connor Alan who is 6 and Mason Bradley, 3.. Stacey is an Art Director and Brad is a Logistics Manager.
Jess and I have lived in Wisconsin, Nebraska, Pekin, IL, Pennsylvania, back to Wheaton, IL, Ohio, Texas and Georgia. Our 27 year tenure in Marietta, GA ended in June 2008 when we moved into our "retirement" home in the north Georgia mountains. Luckily, we are a short drive f...Expand for more
rom our family in the Atlanta area and we are able to play with Connor & Mason on a regular basis.
Our future plans include fishing, boating, golfing and reconnecting with old friends.
I helped plan our 50 year high school reunion in 2011 and that's given me the opportunity to talk and correspond with classmates that I haven't seen for many many years. That was a very rewarding activity. In 2012, we attended Jess's 50 year WCHS reunion too. It was our last chance to see the school building before they began to tear it down.
We make it back to the Chicago area every year or so and we usually spend four or five weeks in northern Wisconsin when we do. Although I suffered a heart attack in December 2012, I plan to be fully recovered before it's time to leave for our 2013 trip up there in August.
Since I'm no longer a gold member on classmates.com, I won't be able to see any messages or send any. I'm not ignoring you.
